Highway Engineers (all levels)

Our client, a multi-disciplinary consultancy in the construction, transportation, highways, and infrastructure sectors, is seeking talented Highway Engineers of all levels to join their team in London. This permanent role offers a hybrid working model and an opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the development of detailed designs in urban environments
• Providing technical expertise to support project delivery
• Contributing to the growth of the highways engineering business
• Engaging in active travel, public realm, transport, and engineering schemes
• Collaborating with clients and stakeholders
• Creating comprehensive design packages aligned with industry standards
• Producing high-quality drawings and design documents using AutoCAD
• Supporting the implementation of statutory undertaker's plant diversion processes

Job Requirements:

• Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Civil Engineering
• Experience developing highway designs in accordance with DMRB, TfL streetscape guidance, LTN1/20, Manual for Streets, and TSRGD
• Proficiency in using AutoCAD for producing design packages
• Experience with the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW)
• Understanding of industry CDM 2015 requirements
• Strong written communication skills for report compilation
• Confident communicator with clients, colleagues, sub-contractors and sub-consultants
• Ability to work proactively and use initiative

Desirable Skills:

• Working knowledge of Civils 3D
• Experience designing SuDS and raingardens
• Experience delivering projects within London
• Experience collaborating with other disciplines
• Proficiency in using Gantt charts for project tracking
• Experience with financial tracking and reporting
• Experience mentoring junior staff and leading project delivery
• Working towards or holding Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body
