General Operator
Bolton | 12 Month Initial Contract | Defence Sector
Morson Talent are working with a key defence client based in Bolton who are looking to recruit a General Operator to join their manufacturing team on an initial 12 month contract, with strong long-term prospects beyond the initial contract term.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading defence organisation, working within a highly skilled manufacturing environment supporting critical programmes.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time onsite position with flexibility to work a range of shift patterns, including:
- Standard Days: Monday to Thursday 07:00-15:36, Friday 07:00-11:36
- 12 Hour Days: 07:00-19:00, either Sunday to Tuesday or Wednesday to Friday
- Nights: Monday to Thursday, 10 hours per night
Rates
- £18.46 PAYE, rising to £19.46 PAYE
- OR £24.78 Umbrella, rising to £26.12 Umbrella
- Additional uplift available for night shifts
The Opportunity
As a General Operator, you will be responsible for carrying out manufacturing and self-certification activities within the business in accordance with product certification procedures, defined workmanship standards, allocated budgets and agreed timescales to meet project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed standard assembly and manufacturing activities in line with required procedures and quality standards.
- Ensure all work is completed to specified safety requirements and deadlines.
- Contribute to the efficient flow of work and information within the manufacturing area.
- Adhere to company standards, behaviours and best practice at all times.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations.
- IPC 610 certification/training is desirable.

Skills & Experience Required
- Experience within a microelectronics environment is essential
- Excellent dexterity and ability to carry out fine, detailed work.
- Ability to read and interpret layouts and technical instructions.
- Comfortable following detailed procedures and work instructions.
- Flexible approach to working shift patterns.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good PC literacy skills.
