Our client, a successful main dealership based in Lowestoft, is looking to recruit an experienced General Sales Manager to lead its busy sales operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Sales Manager who is ready to take the next step into a General Sales Manager position, or for an experienced GSM looking for a fresh challenge. The successful candidate will lead a team of four sales professionals, driving performance, profitability and customer satisfaction while ensuring the dealership consistently achieves its objectives.

With annual sales targets of 450–500 vehicles, this is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with a proven track record of developing teams and delivering results.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of four sales professionals.
• Drive new and used vehicle sales performance to achieve dealership targets.
• Maximise profitability through effective sales processes and F&I performance.
• Monitor individual and team KPIs, providing coaching and support where required.
• Ensure exceptional customer service standards are delivered throughout the sales journey.
• Oversee stock management, vehicle pricing and showroom presentation.
• Work closely with senior management to develop and implement sales strategies.
• Maintain accurate reporting and ensure dealership compliance with all relevant processes and regulations.
• Recruit, train and mentor team members to maximise performance and retention.

Your Background & Skills

• Previous experience as a Sales Manager within the motor trade is essential.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop successful sales teams.
• Strong understanding of dealership sales processes and performance management.
• Commercially aware with the ability to drive profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Results-driven with a proactive and hands-on management style.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
