About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in the Rugeley area. This is an excellent opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) reach their full potential. The role is available for an immediate start after the Easter holidays, with long‑term opportunities for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
- Help create an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Adapt resources and approaches to support individual learning plans (EHCPs).
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN setting.
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting pupil development.
- A current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
