Are you a passionate, resilient, and dedicated teacher looking to make a real difference?
We are seeking a SEMH Teacher to join a supportive specialist school in Rugeley. This is a full-time role, starting June with the option to begin as soon as possible.
About the Role
As an SEMH Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Your work will help students build confidence, regulate emotions, and access learning in a safe, structured environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Teaching small groups of pupils with SEMH needs
- Creating personalised learning plans and adapting lessons
- Delivering a supportive and therapeutic classroom approach
- Managing challenging behaviour with patience and consistency
- Working closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external specialists
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
This role is ideal for teachers who are calm, innovative, and committed to supporting vulnerable learners.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
- Experience teaching pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or SEND
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A nurturing, resilient, and trauma-informed approach
- Ability to create engaging, differentiated learning
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
