Rugeley | Full-Time | September 2026

Are you a passionate, resilient, and dedicated teacher looking to make a real difference?
We are seeking a SEMH Teacher to join a supportive specialist school in Rugeley. This is a full-time role, starting June with the option to begin as soon as possible.

About the Role

As an SEMH Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Your work will help students build confidence, regulate emotions, and access learning in a safe, structured environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Teaching small groups of pupils with SEMH needs
  • Creating personalised learning plans and adapting lessons
  • Delivering a supportive and therapeutic classroom approach
  • Managing challenging behaviour with patience and consistency
  • Working closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external specialists
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

This role is ideal for teachers who are calm, innovative, and committed to supporting vulnerable learners.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or SEND
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • A nurturing, resilient, and trauma-informed approach
  • Ability to create engaging, differentiated learning
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
