At Staffline, we want to give everyone the opportunity to learn and be part of an ongoing journey to high performance, regardless of what business area they work in. Learning and Development is at the absolute core of that. If you care about driving excellence through building a learning culture; this is the role you’ve been looking for.
What you’ll do as Learning and Development Specialist
The Learning and Development Specialist is a pivotal role when assessing the success and development of our people at Staffline. You’ll be a key part of the learning team and ultimately help build the learning suite and strategy for the organisation.
This role would suit someone who is a creative thinker with a flair for coaching, as design and delivery of learning material makes up a large chunk of the day-to-day. To be successful, you’ll work closely with the Leadership Team, developing learning plans and reviewing current programmes, making sure that learning is consistent and delivers value across the business.
This is a role which will stretch you and utilise a wide range of skills. Below is a flavour of what you can expect during your time as Learning and Development Specialist at Staffline:
- Design and deliver both digital and face to face learning
- Develop and govern quality standards across the business
- Promote and endorse learning opportunities within the business through marketing and direct comms
- Work with the Learning & Development Manager to drive wider learning initiatives and build a learning culture throughout the business
- Assist with L&D events, creating agendas and engaging with external providers
- Liaise with the Compliance department to ensure all mandatory learning is delivered, tracked and completed across Staffline.
- Support the apprenticeship strategy, working with business leaders, employees and external providers to identify requirements, ensure effective delivery and make recommendations where necessary.
- Manage and maintain the internal LMS, ensuring the smooth delivery of the annual E-learning programme
- Oversee the delivery and development of our new starter onboarding programme ‘Unlocking Expertise’, engaging with key stakeholders to maintain content relevance.
What you’ll need to be successful as Learning and Development Specialist
This role has significant influence over a large and successful business and to thrive in it, there are a few things you will need:
- To be comfortable partnering with stakeholders at all levels to drive L&D solutions
- To be an excellent communicator, have good influencing skills and be able to demonstrate managing multiple projects and initiatives at once
- To be confident speaking in front of large groups of people, both virtually and face to face
- To enjoy learning new things (as there is a lot to learn!)
- To be proficient in the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Other skills that would be beneficial in this role include:
- Experience in a learning and development position and be able to demonstrate design and delivery (ideally in a corporate environment)
- Have or be working towards an L&D specific qualification
- Being familiar with eLearning design software
- Experience of working with apprenticeships and understanding the associated levy
Most importantly though, you’ll be driven to succeed, enjoy being part of something bigger than one person and embrace teamship in the work you do!
