Credit Controller

Are you an experienced Credit Controller who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships and successfully collecting outstanding debt?
This is a great opportunity to join the finance team of a well-established business, working closely with the Finance Manager and colleagues across the wider organisation.
It’s a hands-on role with plenty of variety. You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day credit control function, proactively managing customer accounts and collections, alongside cash allocation, reporting, invoicing and reconciliations.

What will you be doing?

• Taking ownership of credit control across the business
• Proactively chasing overdue payments by phone and email
• Building positive relationships with customers to resolve payment queries
• Allocating incoming payments
• Reconciling customer accounts
• Carrying out credit checks on new and existing customers
• Producing accurate credit control and aged debt reports
• Highlighting risks, disputed accounts and areas requiring action
• Producing manual invoices and maintaining accurate cashbook records
• Working closely with internal teams to improve collections and cash flow
• Supporting other members of the team when required

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience within credit control
• Confidence chasing outstanding payments professionally
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills
• The ability to organise and prioritise your workload
• A proactive approach to resolving queries
• A friendly, confident and professional communication style
