Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 + Package

Are you an experienced Project Manager looking to join one of the UK's leading Tier 1 Main Contractors?

We are working exclusively with a highly respected principal contractor who has secured a significant pipeline of Department for Education projects and is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead the delivery of major education schemes valued between £30m and £50m.

Reporting directly into a Contracts Manager, you will take full operational responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to successful handover, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the delivery of complex DfE and education projects valued between £30m and £50m.
• Managing schemes from pre-construction phase through procurement, construction and handover.
• Developing and implementing project programmes and delivery strategies.
• Working closely with commercial, design and operational teams to mitigate risk and maximise project performance.
• Ensuring site teams maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Managing subcontractor performance, logistics and programme activities.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
• Providing regular project reporting to the Contracts Manager and senior leadership team.
• Driving quality, programme and commercial outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

• Proven experience working as a Project Manager for a recognised Tier 1 or leading regional main contractor.
• Demonstrable delivery experience on Department for Education projects.
• Strong pre-construction experience, including planning, procurement strategy and buildability input.
• Track record of delivering projects valued between £30m and £50m.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
• Stable career history with evidence of delivering complex construction projects from inception to completion.
