About the role
About Pelorus Foundation
We're a small, ambitious conservation charity working with grassroots organisations across Africa, Asia and Latin America to protect endangered wildlife, safeguard wild places and empower communities on the front line of conservation.
We champion innovative approaches and back local people making a real difference. We're growing our reach and ambition, and this is your opportunity to help shape what comes next.
About the role
This is an opportunity to play a central part in growing an ambitious international conservation charity. You'll develop our fundraising programme, identify new opportunities and build partnerships that make more conservation work possible.
You'll work across trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate partnerships and individual giving, researching prospects, writing compelling applications and proposals, developing existing relationships and bringing new supporters on board.
You'll be a confident ambassador for Pelorus Foundation, happy to network, attend events and arrange and lead meetings with prospective funders, donors and corporate partners. You'll enjoy making connections and turning conversations into opportunities.
Just as importantly, you'll take ownership of the fundraising pipeline, contribute to strategy and income targets, manage effective systems and ensure opportunities are followed through. Excellent writing, organisation and attention to detail are essential. You'll need to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and make sure nothing gets missed.
Working closely with the Head of Pelorus Foundation, you'll contribute to wider organisational planning and decision-making. We're a small team, so initiative, flexibility and a willingness to get involved are important. You'll have real ownership, a voice in our development and the opportunity to help grow our fundraising ambition.
Who we're looking for
You'll bring practical fundraising experience, a good understanding of the UK funding landscape, particularly trusts and foundations, and the confidence to build relationships and represent Pelorus Foundation professionally.
You'll be creative and resourceful, highly organised and reliable, with the tenacity and resilience to see things through. A collaborative approach and a good sense of humour are essential. Above all, you'll care about conservation and want to make a difference.
Why join Pelorus Foundation?
You'll have the opportunity to make a genuine mark, build your own network and work closely with the Head of Pelorus Foundation as part of a small, supportive team. You'll connect with an inspiring network of funders and conservation partners, and have opportunities to engage with the international projects your fundraising supports.
Most importantly, you'll see the direct connection between your work and protecting endangered species, safeguarding wild places and supporting the communities working to preserve them.
How to apply
If you have the skills, initiative and commitment to help us grow, we'd love to hear from you. Download our recruitment pack for the full role profile and further details. Send your CV and a covering letter explaining your interest and what you would bring to Pelorus Foundation.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.
