Our client, a growing and well-established construction company operating across South West Scotland, is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional to play a key role in the successful delivery of a range of construction projects, ensuring effective cost management and financial control from inception through to completion.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial management of construction projects, helping to drive profitability through accurate cost control, budget management and commercial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control project costs across multiple construction projects.
• Track expenditure against agreed budgets and forecasts.
• Review cost information and provide commercial insights to support decision-making.
• Identify, investigate and report cost variances.
• Assist with the financial management and performance of projects.
• Support the commercial team in maintaining profitability and maximising project value.
• Prepare regular cost reports and provide updates to key stakeholders.
• Ensure commercial activities are carried out in line with company procedures and project requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of cost control and commercial management principles.
• Ability to analyse and interpret financial and cost data.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness and sound judgement when supporting project decisions.
• A proactive and solution-focused approach.
