School Cleaner

We are recruiting for a Cleaner to join a well-established independent school in the Harrow area. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual to become part of a supportive site team responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The position is offered on an initial temporary basis with the potential to become permanent after the first month.

• Monday to Friday
• 3:30pm to 7:30pm
• 20 hours per week
• All-year-round position

• £16.94 per hour (Umbrella)

• Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal areas to a high standard
• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
• Replenish toiletries, tissues, and cleaning supplies
• Use cleaning products safely and in line with COSHH regulations
• Follow all health and safety procedures
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report faults when required
• Monitor stock levels and notify management when supplies are running low
• Provide cover for absent colleagues where necessary
• Carry out additional cleaning duties as required

• Previous cleaning experience preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning products and COSHH regulations desirable
• School cleaning experience beneficial but not essential
• Good spoken and understood English
• Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual cleaning duties
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated
• Professional, friendly, and approachable
• Willing to undertake training as required

The successful candidate will be expected to adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
