Teaching Assistant
Salary: Competitive, to be discussed
Location: Wyre primary school
Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 15:30pm
A welcoming primary school is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant with EYFS knowledge who is passionate about helping young children learn, develop, and thrive in a nurturing classroom environment. The successful Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting both teaching and pupil wellbeing throughout the school day.
Day-to-day of the role
Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning activities across EYFS
Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development
Encourage children's social, emotional, and educational progress
Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Use initiative to respond to pupils' needs and support their wellbeing throughout the day
Provide personal care support where required
Build positive relationships with children to encourage confidence and independence
Work closely with colleagues as part of a supportive EYFS team
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience working within an EYFS setting
Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience
A positive, proactive, and enthusiastic approach
Ability to use initiative and work independently when needed
Comfortable undertaking personal care duties
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners
