We are seeking a hands-on Data Governance Engineer with strong AWS expertise to support a strategic programme focused on enabling trusted data publication across DCC. You will design and implement governance, metadata, lineage and data quality capabilities, helping to improve dataset assurance, trustworthiness and publication readiness across modern cloud-based data platforms. This role offers the opportunity to shape data governance practices that support better decision-making and drive the future of data services at DCC.

How you will contribute to transforming the smart energy network and shaping the future.

• Design and implement data governance, metadata management and lineage solutions that improve data discoverability, traceability and trust.
• Develop automated data quality controls, monitoring capabilities and remediation processes to improve data integrity and reliability.
• Create governance frameworks, policies and standards that support responsible data management and regulatory compliance.
• Design and optimise scalable data pipelines, integration solutions and cloud-based data services using AWS technologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish data stewardship, ownership and accountability models that improve organisational data management outcomes.

What you need to bring:

• Strong experience designing and implementing data governance and data management capabilities within modern cloud-based environments.
• Experience working with AWS cloud technologies and cloud-native data platforms.
• Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, data quality frameworks and governance processes.
• Experience designing and developing scalable data pipelines, data models and integration solutions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and drive adoption of data governance best practices.
