HGV Driver – Class 2 (Category C) Location: Nottingham Pay Rate: £15.58 per hour PAYE | £20.21 per hour Umbrella inc Holiday Hours: 44 hours per week Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off – 14:00pm to 01:00am Contract: Temporary The Role Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join an established environmental services team in Nottingham. You will be responsible for operating a heavy goods vehicle safely and efficiently, supporting daily operational routes and helping deliver essential services to the local community. This is more than simply driving. You will also take responsibility for vehicle safety, supporting a small operational crew and ensuring work is completed to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Safely operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle across designated daily routes. Carry out routine vehicle safety checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements. Lead and support a small crew, providing clear instructions and ensuring daily duties are completed effectively. Follow allocated routes and operational schedules. Use in-cab technology and systems to record service delivery, report incidents and update relevant information. Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring safe working practices at all times. Communicate professionally with colleagues and members of the public. Represent the organisation positively through reliable service delivery and professional conduct. Essential Requirements Valid Category C (Class 2) HGV driving licence. Valid Driver Qualification Card (CPC). Previous experience driving HGV vehicles in an operational environment. Experience carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and identifying defects. Good understanding of road safety and health and safety procedures. Ability to lead and support a small team, providing direction and managing daily workloads. Confident using in-cab technology and electronic recording systems. Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach. Working Hours 44 hours per week, working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern from 14:00 – 01:00.
