Accounts Manager

Temporary Accounts Manager | £18.00–£19.50 per hour | Bristol | Part-Time

Morson are recruiting for a Temporary Accounts Manager to support one of our businesses based in Bristol.

This is an ongoing temporary opportunity, offering 22–25 hours per week with flexibility around working days and how the hours are structured.

The organisation has a relatively straightforward accounts function, with low invoice volumes.

The role would suit someone who is organised, thorough, competent and reliable, with a good understanding of day-to-day accounts and financial administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities using Xero.
• Raise sales invoices and purchase orders.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for management review.
• Complete quarterly VAT returns.
• Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
• Review aged debtors and flag any potential issues.
• Check trial balances and investigate discrepancies.
• Check payroll figures and arrange payments.
• Respond to finance queries from clients and management.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a hands-on accounts role.
• Good understanding of basic accounting, reconciliations and financial record keeping.
• Organised, thorough and reliable approach to work.
• Competent managing accounts independently and working to deadlines.
• Good attention to detail.
• Confident communicating with colleagues, clients and management.

Desirable:

• Experience using Xero accounting software.
• Previous experience managing the accounts of a small business.
• Experience preparing monthly management accounts and VAT returns.
