We are partnering with a leading global investment management organisation seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join a high-performing ETF Technology team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with Portfolio Managers, Quantitative Analysts and Investment Technology teams, developing and enhancing a suite of business-critical applications that support ETF portfolio management and investment decision-making.
The successful candidate will play a key role in modernising and scaling existing trading and investment tools, improving engineering quality, reducing technical debt and delivering new capabilities across a sophisticated front-office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and support production-grade Python applications
- Enhance investment workflows supporting portfolio management, trading and risk analysis
- Improve platform scalability, resilience and operational support processes
- Build and maintain APIs, integrations and automated delivery pipelines
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers and Quantitative Analysts to deliver business-critical enhancements
- Strengthen monitoring, observability, testing and production support capabilities
- Contribute to architecture decisions and application modernisation initiatives
Required Skills
- Strong commercial Python engineering experience
- Experience building and supporting production applications
- PostgreSQL and Snowflake expertise
- AWS cloud experience (ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS or similar)
- CI/CD, automated testing and software engineering best practices
- Experience within asset management, investment management, capital markets or financial services
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable Experience
- ETF investment technology
- Bloomberg or FactSet integrations
- Portfolio analytics and risk systems
- Quantitative finance environments
- Front-office trading technology
