Responsibilities
- Making, repairing and modifying foundry patterns and core boxes to drawings
- Working with wood, resin, plastic and metal
- Calculating shrinkage, machining allowances and draft angles
- Checking patterns for accuracy and defects
- Working with the foundry team to fix pattern-related issues
- Keeping records of modifications and a safe, tidy workshop
Skills and requirements
Experience as a foundry patternmaker or in a similar role, with a working knowledge of moulding and metal casting and the ability to read engineering drawings. Sand casting experience, traditional methods, or CNC or CAD skills are a bonus.
