Junior Infrastructure Engineer **Location:** Cardiff (3 days in the office) **Salary:** Up to £35,000 + Bonus ### The Opportunity An exciting opportunity for a Junior Infrastructure Engineer to join an established technology business specialising in SaaS and financial software solutions. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, helping build and support cloud infrastructure while developing your skills across AWS, automation, networking and DevOps technologies. ### Key Responsibilities - Build, maintain and support AWS cloud infrastructure. - Work with AWS services including EC2, VPC, ECS, RDS and IAM. - Assist with infrastructure automation using Terraform. - Support CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and cloud security. - Help troubleshoot infrastructure and operational issues. - Gain exposure to databases, Microsoft 365 and wider IT infrastructure. - Document solutions and contribute to continuous improvements. ### Essential Skills & Experience - 1-2 years' experience in infrastructure, cloud or IT operations, or a relevant degree alongside industry experience. - Hands-on exposure to AWS, ideally EC2, VPC, RDS, ECS or IAM. - Understanding of networking and cloud infrastructure fundamentals. - Exposure to Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools. - Basic knowledge of Git and CI/CD. - Scripting experience with Python, Bash or PowerShell. - A proactive attitude and genuine interest in developing cloud technologies. ### Desirable - Microsoft 365, Entra ID or Intune. - Oracle, PostgreSQL or database experience. - Linux and Windows administration. - Docker, Kubernetes or Ansible. - AWS certifications. ### What's on Offer? - Salary up to £35,000 + Bonus. - Hybrid working (3 days in the Cardiff office). - Mentorship from experienced engineers. - Exposure to modern AWS, cloud and DevOps technologies. - Excellent opportunity for technical development and career progression.
