Caretaker

Location: Alfreton Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–4:00pm; Friday, 8:00am–3:30pm Start Date: Immediate We are looking for a reliable and proactive Caretaker to support a school in the Swanwick area. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure and well maintained. Key Responsibilities: Opening and securing the school premises. Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs. Completing routine site checks and reporting any issues. Ensuring the school grounds and external areas are maintained. Supporting deliveries and contractors. Maintaining a safe environment for staff and pupils. Requirements: Previous caretaking or maintenance experience preferred. A practical, hands-on approach. Ability to work independently and use initiative. Good awareness of health and safety. Reliable and trustworthy. Compliance Requirements: All candidates must complete The Supply Register's compliance process before commencing work. This includes: Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service preferred, or willingness to obtain a new DBS. Minimum of two employer references covering the previous 24 months. Three references required if you have not previously worked with children. Professional character reference for any unexplained employment gaps. Proof of Right to Work in the UK. Two proofs of address (utility bill or bank statement dated within the last three months, or council tax bill dated within the last 12 months). Proof of National Insurance. Proof of any name changes, where applicable.
