Process / Plant Operator

Our client, a leading organisation in the water and wastewater sector, is seeking a Process / Plant Operator to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs). This permanent role involves process control, plant monitoring, maintenance support and operational decision–making to maintain optimum performance and discharge compliance. Key Responsibilities: Operating, monitoring and maintaining ETP assets in line with operational procedures and Environmental Agency permit requirementsMonitoring plant SCADA systems, responding to alarms and making informed process decisionsCarrying out planned and reactive operational and maintenance tasks, supporting the Maintenance Lead with more complex activitiesConducting laboratory analysis, sampling and proactive monitoring of plant performanceRecording analytical data and maintaining accurate information within computer–based monitoring systemsReviewing trends and performance data to identify improvements and support optimisation plansPurchasing and managing operational consumables, including chemicalsMaintaining site housekeeping standards and participating in an on–call rota Job Requirements: Experience in process operations, plant operations or a related water and wastewater environmentUnderstanding of process control principles and effluent treatment processesAbility to monitor SCADA systems and respond appropriately to alarms and changing plant conditionsKnowledge of operational monitoring, sampling and laboratory analysis proceduresAbility to interpret plant performance data and use trends to support proactive decision–makingUnderstanding of planned and reactive maintenance activitiesCommitment to safe working practices, environmental compliance and operational excellenceWillingness to participate in an on–call rota and work collaboratively with operational and maintenance teams Benefits: Permanent opportunity within the water and wastewater sectorTechnical training and ongoing professional developmentOpportunity to contribute to plant optimisation and environmental complianceSupportive working environment with collaboration across operations and maintenance teams If you are an experienced Process / Plant Operator with knowledge of process control and water treatment operations, apply now to support the safe and efficient performance of essential Effluent Treatment Plants.
