Systems Administrator – Livingston (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £40,000

Bright Purple are delighted to be working with an established organisation seeking a talented Systems Administrator to join their IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded IT professional who enjoys getting hands-on with infrastructure, solving complex problems and contributing to technology improvements. Working within a small, collaborative IT team, you'll take ownership of second and third-line support, Microsoft infrastructure administration and technical projects, with the opportunity to develop your skills across cloud technologies, security and automation.

Role Overview:

• Administer, maintain and support Windows Server and Windows 11 environments.

• Manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory and Intune.

• Provide second and third-line infrastructure support, troubleshooting complex technical issues.

• Support networking infrastructure, security configurations, patching and vulnerability remediation.

• Deliver infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology improvement projects.

• Develop PowerShell scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency.

   

Essential Skills

• 3+ years' experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering or a similar technical role.

• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Windows 11.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID and Intune.

• Solid networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs and firewalls.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues independently.

   

Desirable Experience

• Fortinet FortiGate firewalls.

• PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation.

• Mobile device management, including Android Enterprise.

• Security hardening and vulnerability management.

• Experience working within ISO 27001, SOC 2 or similarly controlled environments.
