About MCR Property Group
MCR Property Group is an independent real estate investment and development company with a diverse portfolio spanning residential, commercial, industrial and other property sectors. With an established national presence and continued business growth, we recognise the importance of accurate, reliable and well-governed data in supporting our operations.
The Role
We are looking for an organised, detail-oriented Data Controller to join our team and take responsibility for maintaining the accuracy, integrity and quality of business data across our core systems.
This is an important operational role, supporting multiple departments by ensuring that business-critical information is accurate, consistent, up to date and managed in line with established data governance standards.
Working closely with teams across the business, you will oversee master data records, carry out regular quality checks, support reporting requirements and help improve the processes that underpin our data management activities. You will also provide assistance to the Data Protection Officer, helping to maintain appropriate standards of data management and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management: Create, maintain, update and validate master data records across key business areas, including finance, HR, customers, contractors and tenants.
Data Quality & Governance: Conduct regular data audits, identify and resolve duplicate or inaccurate records, and ensure consistent data entry standards are followed.
Reporting & Compliance: Produce accurate operational, financial and regulatory reports, supporting internal reporting requirements and relevant compliance frameworks.
Data Protection Support: Work alongside and provide administrative and operational support to the Data Protection Officer, assisting with data governance and information management requirements.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve data management processes, streamline workflows and strengthen the reliability of business databases.
Documentation: Maintain accurate system records, process documentation and data management procedures.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across different departments to resolve data discrepancies and ensure information is managed consistently throughout the business.
About You
We are looking for someone with a methodical approach, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to work with data across multiple business functions.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in data management, records administration, data governance, compliance or a similar corporate database environment.
- Experience supporting or working alongside a Data Protection Officer, with an understanding of data protection and information management requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of business data.
- An understanding of data governance principles, data quality standards and database management processes.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and resolve issues accurately.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different departments.
If you have a strong eye for detail, enjoy working with data and want to play an important role in maintaining and improving the information that supports a growing business, we would be interested in hearing from you.
