Finance Director

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Director to join a highly regarded international manufacturing and retail business with a market-leading position in the premium consumer goods sector. The organisation combines a long-standing heritage of craftsmanship and quality with ambitious growth plans, serving customers across the UK and internationally through both direct and channel-based routes.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Finance Director will take full responsibility for the financial, commercial, administrative and governance activities of the UK business. This is a visible and influential role, offering the opportunity to shape strategy, drive operational performance and contribute to the wider success of a global group.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Managing Director and fellow board members, you will lead the finance function while providing strategic insight and commercial challenge across all areas of the business. You will play a pivotal role in supporting growth, ensuring robust financial controls, and delivering best-in-class financial reporting to both UK and international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership to the UK business.
• Partner with the Managing Director and senior leadership team on business planning and decision-making.
• Lead all aspects of financial control, reporting, compliance and governance.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
• Deliver insightful financial analysis to support business growth and profitability.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and capital investment activities.
• Ensure all statutory, legal and regulatory obligations are met.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team.
• Build strong relationships with group finance, external advisers, auditors and banking partners.
• Support the ongoing development of systems, processes and controls to enable future growth.

About You

We are seeking a commercially minded Finance Director with a proven track record of operating at board level within a multi-site, international environment.

You will ideally bring:

• Fully qualified finance credentials (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Previous Finance Director or senior financial leadership experience.
• Experience within manufacturing, consumer products, retail and/or multi-channel businesses.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, controls and compliance.
• Experience of working within an international group structure.
• The ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on leadership style.
• A track record of building, developing and leading high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience of ERP systems, ideally SAP or similar platforms.
