Year 1 Class Teacher - Nelson

Full-Time | Long-Term Position | 22nd January - End of Academic Year

Pay: M2-M6 | £184.83-£240.72 per day, dependent on experience

Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with an Ofsted Outstanding infant school in Nelson, who are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Year 1 Class Teacher to join their team from 22nd January until the end of the academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded infant school with a strong reputation for providing an excellent education. As a three-form-entry school, you will benefit from working alongside other Year 1 teachers, providing a supportive team environment with opportunities to share ideas, resources and good practice.

About the Role

We are looking for a confident and dedicated teacher with a strong understanding of Key Stage 1, particularly Year 1, who can hit the ground running and make a positive impact on pupil's learning and development.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have proven teaching experience within Key Stage 1, with specific experience teaching Year 1.

• Have strong knowledge and understanding of phonics and its delivery.

• Be confident in planning, delivering and assessing engaging lessons.

• Have high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and achievement.

• Be adaptable, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

• Be willing and available to attend school staff meetings and other relevant meetings after school as required.

Please note: This position is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs). Previous experience teaching within Year 1 is essential.

• Three-form-entry setting, offering a supportive team of fellow Year 1 teachers.

• Based in Nelson, easily accessible for candidates travelling from Burnley and Blackburn, particularly those who drive.

• For candidates using public transport, the bus station is approximately a 10-minute walk from the school.

The school is keen to meet potential candidates and would ideally like to arrange an interview and classroom observation to see candidates in practice before making an appointment.
