Job Title: Quantity SurveyorSalary: £45,000 - £55,000Location: Market Harborough, LeicestershireJob OverviewBennett & Game Recruitment are representing a specialist interiors and refurbishment contractor seeking a hands-on Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team.The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of specialist interiors packages, working closely with the wider project and management teams. This role would suit a commercially capable QS with experience in drylining, commercial fit-out or specialist subcontracting, who is comfortable managing their own workload and taking ownership of projects.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop towards a Commercial Manager position, with the potential to take on greater responsibility for the commercial function as the business continues to expand.Key Responsibilities● Manage the commercial aspects of specialist interiors and refurbishment packages.● Prepare and manage valuations, quotations and cost reports.● Monitor project costs, cash flow and financial performance.● Manage variations, subcontractor costs and final accounts.● Support procurement and manage commercial relationships with clients and suppliers.● Identify and manage commercial risks throughout project delivery.● Work closely with project teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget.● Take increasing ownership of commercial processes and responsibilities as the business grows.Job Requirements● Approximately 5-10 years' Quantity Surveying experience.● Experience within a specialist subcontractor, smaller contractor or interiors/refurbishment environment.● Drylining experience would be particularly advantageous.● Commercial fit-out or specialist interiors experience is desirable.● Strong understanding of labour, materials and commercial management within specialist packages.● Able to manage own workload and take responsibility without requiring training in the fundamentals of the role.● Commercially aware, organised and detail-focused.● Strong communication and relationship management skills.● A proactive, hands-on approach and an interest in progressing into a Commercial Manager role.Salary & Benefits● Salary of £45,000 - £55,000, depending on experience.● 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.● Pension with approximately 4% employer contribution.● Business mileage paid.● Long-term opportunity to progress towards a Commercial Manager position.● Potential to take greater ownership of the commercial function and help develop a QS team as the business expands.
