Nursery Practitioner

A welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Worcester is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join their Early Years team, working with children aged 3–4 years old. This is a full-time, ongoing position starting as soon as possible.

The role will involve supporting children's development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), including communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, and early literacy and numeracy skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced Nursery Practitioner who is passionate about Early Years education and enjoys supporting young children as they take their first steps in their learning journey.

As a Nursery Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate activities for children aged 3–4 years old.
• Providing high-quality care and learning opportunities within the school's nursery setting.
• Supporting children's development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Planning and delivering stimulating play-based activities to encourage learning, exploration and independence.
• Supporting children's communication, language, physical, social and emotional development.
• Observing, assessing and recording children's progress and development.
• Creating a safe, welcoming and stimulating learning environment where children feel confident and secure.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, social skills and relationships between children.
• Supporting children's personal care routines, including toileting, handwashing and mealtimes.
• Building positive relationships with children, parents and carers.
• Working closely with the Early Years team to ensure children's individual needs are met.
• Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety, and the wellbeing of all children remain a priority throughout the day.

To be successful in this Nursery Practitioner role, you will need:

• A recognised Early Years qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare or an equivalent relevant qualification).
• Previous experience working within an Early Years or nursery setting.
• Experience supporting children aged 3–4 years old would be highly desirable.
• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate learning activities.
• A nurturing, patient and positive approach to supporting young children.
• The ability to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting the Early Years team.
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months.
• A minimum of two excellent references.
