Operations Manager

Cogent Staffing are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our client’s team based in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Reporting to the Managing Director / Head of Operations, this pivotal role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day delivery of projects, managing logistics, supervising trade contractors, and maintaining rigorous health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership in project delivery, a background in construction, joinery, or home improvement sectors, and hands-on experience managing industry accreditations such as CHAS and Constructionline.

Shifts & Salary

• Salary: £40,000+ per annum DOE (dependent on experience) + performance bonus incentive based on KPIs
• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
• Working Hours: Standard Monday to Friday office hours (plus site visits as required)
• Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire
• Company car included

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule all trades and contractors to guarantee seamless job progression, issuing timely schedules to customers prior to project commencement.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor build progress, oversee quality control, and ensure high standards are maintained within customer properties.
• Manage and maintain the master installation calendar to eliminate clashes, ensure accurate scheduling, and support timely project completion.
• Maintain proactive daily communication with customers, supplying clear updates on completed works and outlining plans for the days ahead.
• Oversee warehouse operations and supply chain logistics, ensuring materials are checked, delivered on time, and fully prepped prior to installation.
• Maintain full compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations across all sites and warehouse operations, managing compliance accreditations such as CHAS and
• Constructionline.
• Meet necessary KPIs based on jobs completed, works organised etc.
• Occasional travel to sites required.

Key Requirements

• Proven management experience within construction, joinery, shop fitting, or home improvement sectors.
• Direct experience handling industry health and safety accreditations and compliance schemes (e.g., CHAS, Constructionline).
• Exceptional organisational, multi-tasking, and time-management capabilities to juggle multiple projects and trade teams simultaneously.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills with a proven track record of resolving issues calmly and professionally.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
• Full UK driving licence (company car provided), and happy driving to work sites as required.
