Hours: Monday to Friday | 05:00-07:00 Starts

Contract: Temporary/Ongoing TTP

Pay Rate: £16.77 per hour (Holiday pay accrued) / £18.79 per hour (Holiday pay included)

Holiday pay: You can choose to have your holiday pay accrued and paid when you take annual leave, or receive it as rolled-up holiday pay within your regular wages. The rolled-up rate includes the applicable holiday pay uplift.

Important Requirement

Applicants MUST be willing and able to complete nights out when required. This is an essential part of the role and is not optional. Candidates unable to undertake nights out should not apply.

The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering products primarily to building merchants throughout the region. The role will involve a combination of Class 1 and occasional Class 2 work. A willingness to complete nights out is a mandatory requirement for this position. Nights out will be required in line with operational needs and all applicants must be prepared to undertake them.

Duties include:

· Driving double-decker curtain-sided vehicles

· Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting

· Delivering products safely and professionally

· Using site-provided navigation systems

· Following all transport, compliance and health & safety procedures

· Signing in and out through site security

· Building knowledge of routes and products as responsibilities develop

· Completing nights out as required (essential requirement)

Drivers will initially complete a single run, with duties increasing as experience and product knowledge grow.

Requirements

· Valid Category CE (Class 1) Licence

· Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card

· No major endorsements

· Professional and reliable attitude

· Ability to complete the assessment and induction process

· Flexibility should business requirements change in the future

Additional Information

· Vehicles are pre-loaded and secured before departure

· Deliveries are unloaded by FLT operators

· Training provided on mirrorless vehicles

· Older DAF vehicles available initially if preferred

· CCTV fitted within cabs for security purposes

Day 1 - Assessment (Unpaid - up to 2 hours)

· Driving assessment

· Interview

· Drug and alcohol swab test

Day 2 - Full Paid Induction
