Position: Ocean Import Operator Salary: 28,000– 31,000 + Bonus Incentives & Profit Share Hours: Mon – Fri 8:30–17:00pm (Hybrid 2 days from home 3 office based) Location: Middlesex Are you currently working in freight forwarding and looking to take the next step in your career? We're working with a well–established, employee–owned freight forwarding business that's looking to add an Ocean Import Operator to its growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with some initial experience in freight forwarding who wants to develop their operational knowledge, take on more responsibility and build a long–term career within the industry. The Role You'll support the day–to–day management of ocean import shipments, working closely with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines and hauliers to ensure cargo moves smoothly from origin through to final delivery. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinating ocean import shipments from overseas origins through to final delivery.Liaising with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and customers to keep shipments moving.Tracking shipments and providing customers with regular updates.Preparing and checking import documentation to ensure information is accurate and complete.Assisting with customs clearance requirements and resolving documentation queries.Arranging deliveries and coordinating with transport providers. What We're Looking For This role would suit someone at an early stage in their freight forwarding career who is keen to learn, develop and progress. You might currently be working as a Junior Freight Forwarder, Import Clerk, Logistics Coordinator or in a similar position, and be ready for an opportunity to broaden your experience. Ideally, you'll have: Some previous experience within freight forwarding, shipping or logistics.An interest in ocean freight and a desire to develop your import knowledge. You don't need to know everything already. The right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in developing within freight forwarding are just as important as your existing experience.
