Garage Equipment Engineer

£30,000 - £42,000 per annum (DOE) | Temp to Perm | Overtime Available

The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Garage Equipment Engineer to join a specialist engineering business on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to work with a wide range of automotive workshop equipment, carrying out servicing, maintenance and calibration at customer sites across the UK.

We are ideally looking for someone with previous garage equipment experience. However, candidates with transferable skills from mechanical engineering, factory maintenance or similar engineering environments will also be considered.

The Role:

• Servicing and maintaining automotive workshop equipment.
• Carrying out calibration and testing to ensure equipment is operating accurately and safely.
• Diagnosing faults and completing necessary repairs.
• Attending customer sites to carry out servicing and maintenance work.
• Travelling in a company-provided van to sites across the UK.
• Covering areas from Birmingham and the Midlands up to Scotland.
• Providing a professional and reliable service to customers.
• Occasionally staying away overnight when required, although this is rare.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience as a Garage Equipment Engineer would be advantageous.
• Alternatively, experience in mechanical engineering, factory maintenance or a similar engineering role.
• Good mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Experience fault-finding, servicing and maintaining machinery.
• Confident using hand tools and carrying out practical engineering work.
• Flexible and happy to travel to different customer sites.
• Reliable, organised and comfortable working independently.
• A full UK driving licence.

Pay, Working Hours and Benefits:

• £30,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• Overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours.
• Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 5:00pm.
• Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm.
• One-hour unpaid lunch break.
