This SEND Teaching Assistant role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Reception pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The pupil is non-verbal and requires additional support with their learning, communication and development.
The pupil is currently working below age-related expectations, and the school is looking for a confident, patient and experienced Teaching Assistant who can build a positive relationship with the child and provide consistent, tailored support to meet their individual needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and other members of staff to encourage engagement, support communication and help the pupil access learning activities. Experience using appropriate communication strategies and positive behaviour management approaches would be beneficial.
The position is full-time, starting as soon as possible and continuing until July 2027. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

-
Have experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs, including ADHD or communication difficulties.
-
Ideally have experience supporting non-verbal pupils or children with an EHCP.
-
Have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
-
Be patient, nurturing and confident in providing consistent 1:1 support.
-
Hold a DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or have a DBS certificate issued within the last 12 months.
-
Be able to provide a minimum of two strong professional references.
