About the role

You will join our middle leadership team with a TLR2 allowance and responsibility for day-to-day coaching and mentoring across the school. You will:

  • Lead by example in classroom practice, modelling high-quality teaching and excellent classroom management across Key Stage 2
  • Create a coaching culture across the school, with all teachers wanting to be the very best
  • Provide strategic and practical leadership for coaching and mentoring colleagues, to improve teaching and pupil outcomes
  • Plan and deliver CPD, targeted support and feedback that leads to demonstrable improvements in practice
  • Support curriculum review and development, using up-to-date knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and assessment expectations
  • Offer practical, hands-on support and hold colleagues to account in a constructive, professional way
  • Contribute to whole-school development, policy implementation and the professional development of staff
  • Act as a mentor to our ECTs
  • Support with the planning of lessons and sequences of lessons

This role requires a visible, approachable leader who is comfortable working alongside colleagues in classrooms and who can translate school priorities into day-to-day practice.

About you — the ideal candidate

You will be a qualified teacher with successful classroom experience and a passion for improving teaching and learning. We are looking for someone who:

  • Demonstrates outstanding classroom practice and a resilient, positive approach with both pupils and staff
  • Has strong knowledge of curriculum requirements and effective pedagogical strategies for Key Stage 2
  • Communicates clearly and builds strong, professional relationships with colleagues
  • Gives constructive feedback, coaching, mentoring and facilitating professional learning
  • Uses data and assessment effectively to drive improvements in pupil progress
  • Shows integrity, high professional standards and a commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion
