Accounts Payable Specialist Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annumLocation: Remote
Our client is a leading alternative network (alt-net) provider experiencing exciting growth, and they are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team.This is a fantastic opportunity for an accounts professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, taking ownership of processes, and contributing to the smooth running of a growing business.Responsibilities:Payables booking
The timely booking in AccountingSeed of all supplier invoices that are received by the businessFollow up as necessary for all payable vouchers that have no approval in place to facilitate prompt approval or rejectionIdentify items that need prepaying and ensuring the correct accounting for thoseEnsuring that payable coding is reasonable, especially in relation to capitalisation
Payables management
Work with suppliers to ensure the business is in possession of all invoices and vouchersSupport the business as new vendors are identified and brought on boardEnsure monthly reconciliation of all payables related General Ledger accounts and follow-up as neededFollow up promptly to secure VAT invoices for proforma payments
Employee expense claims management
Control of employee expense claims to ensure compliance with company policy
Payment management
Work with the Finance Director on a weekly (and ad hoc as needed) basis to produce a list of recommended payments
Purchase Order control
Check and issue all Purchase Orders once the connected Purchase Requisition has been approvedMaintain a record of all Purchase Orders that have not been invoiced and follow-up as needed
Experience
Familiarity with accounts payable is essentialGeneral accounting experience, especially in ledger reconciliations is an advantageStrong knowledge of, and an affinity for, accounting systems is essentialStrong Excel skills are essentialWider interest in systems and a willingness to learn new systemsConfident communicatorIndependent thinker
