HGV Class 2 Driver

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dependable Class 2 (Category C) Driver to join our busy and growing builders merchants team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering consistent Monday to Friday work with excellent working hours and no weekend requirements. The Role You will be responsible for delivering a wide range of building materials to construction sites, ports, commercial premises, and trade customers across the local and surrounding areas. Deliveries are primarily forklift offload or crane-assisted, meaning handball is kept to a minimum, although there may occasionally be some manual handling involved depending on the delivery location or product. The role will mainly involve driving a Class 2 vehicle; however, flexibility is required as there will also be occasions where you will be expected to operate a 7.5T vehicle when needed. As the face of the company, you will be expected to provide a professional and courteous service to customers while ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver building materials safely and efficiently to customer sites and ports
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
• Ensure loads are secure and transported safely
• Complete delivery paperwork accurately
• Maintain excellent customer service standards
• Follow all driver hours, tachograph, and road transport regulations
• Support the yard and transport team when required

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 07:00 – 16:00
• No weekends

Requirements

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• Previous multidrop or builders merchant experience preferred
• A HIAB/crane ticket is preferred but will consider applicants without
• A professional, reliable, and hardworking attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
