Our client is opening a brand new, purpose-built veterinary clinic in Blackheath and is seeking a passionate Clinical Director to help shape its future from the very beginning. This is a rare opportunity to lead, inspire and build a team within a beautifully designed environment, redefining what exceptional veterinary care looks and feels like.
As an experienced veterinary surgeon and leader, you will be responsible for the delivery of overall clinic performance, encompassing clinical, financial, and people perspectives. The successful candidate will understand and be passionate about the practice's aims and model, promoting these to their team and clients. Within this framework, you will have autonomy to lead the clinic, supported and guided by the leadership team. You will directly line manage, support, and develop the vet team, the nursing director, and the practice director.
Ensure the highest standards of clinical care through strong leadership and team engagement.
Direct and promote membership and client acquisition, working alongside the membership manager.
Direct the clinic strategy on a local level, overseeing critical areas such as HR, recruitment, health & safety, marketing, and client care.
Manage budget planning and financial delivery, understanding the business model and KPIs.
Lead the practice and the vet team, serving as the figurehead of the clinic and leading by example.
Spend approximately 80% of your time in clinical duties.
Ensure all team members work to their maximum qualification.
Implement clinical governance, identify performance issues, and drive improvements.
Direct education and CPD within the team, promoting an evidence-based medicine approach.
Organise and implement clinical audits and identify new clinical opportunities.
Oversee client complaints, both clinical and non-clinical.
Line manage the Practice Manager and Head Nurse, conducting regular 121s and PDRs.
Foster a culture of respect and inclusion, addressing wellbeing issues proactively.
Advocate for the practice within the veterinary industry and local community.
