Responsibilities in your new role as Sous Chef

As our Sous Chef, you’ll support the Head Chef with all aspects of kitchen leadership and food production. You’ll prepare and present high-quality dishes for the restaurant, private dining, and events. You’ll help keep the kitchen organised, maintain excellent hygiene, and ensure all food safety standards are met, stepping up to lead the team when the Head Chef is away.

You’ll also mentor junior chefs and apprentices, assist with menu development, food costing, and ordering, and encourage creativity and learning in the kitchen. You’ll take part in company events and help uphold our 5-star service standards.

Your personality, experience and qualifications

We are looking for someone with previous experience as a Sous Chef in a fast-paced, fine-dining environment. A background in a 1 Rosette or higher-rated kitchen is preferred, along with formal culinary training and relevant qualifications. You should have a strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management, and be creative, hands-on, and calm under pressure. Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills are essential, along with a genuine passion for food quality, innovation, and teamwork.
