Salary: Paid to Scale (MPS1 - UPS3)

Position Overview

Randstad Education is recruiting a Female PE Teacher for a high-performing secondary school in Plymouth. This is a full-time, term-time contract running from September to December, offering pay directly matching your current teacher scale.

You will join a dynamic physical education department, teaching practical and theoretical PE across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

Please Note: Due to provisions regarding privacy and decency in female changing areas, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the applicant to be female.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent standard recognised by the DfE (Essential).

  • Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum for Physical Education at KS3 and KS4.

  • Ability to manage female changing facilities and maintain a safe learning environment.

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

  • Right to work in the UK.


Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging physical education lessons to all ability levels.

  • Plan, prepare, and mark student work during the 4-month placement.

  • Supervise changing areas and ensure student safeguarding protocols are strictly met.

  • Engage with the department's extra-curricular timetable (after-school fixtures and clubs).
