The Role: What You'll Do

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Working closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to boost their confidence and progress during lessons.
  • Providing tailored support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and implementing creative strategies to help them thrive.
  • Partnering with class teachers and other professionals to review student progress and set up classroom activities.
  • Lending a helping hand with lunch and break duties to ensure a safe, fun school day.
  • Prioritizing student well-being by reporting any concerns directly to the SENCo.

What We Are Looking For

Experience working with children is essential for this role. To be successful, you will need:

  • Previous experience working in an education setting or a similar youth-support role.
  • Proven experience supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • An Enhanced Child DBS check and EWC Registration (or a willingness to apply for both).
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification is highly desirable, though not essential.
