About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and professional School Administrator & Receptionist to join our team at Mayfield Chestnut, Brixham in the new school year.

This vital role involves managing front desk operations, providing administrative support, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the school. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in various computer applications, and demonstrate a friendly yet efficient approach to handling enquiries and administrative tasks. Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors, parents, and students with a courteous and professional demeanour at the reception area
  • Answer phone calls promptly, maintaining excellent phone etiquette
  • Manage appointments, schedules, and student enrolments using organisational tools and software
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately into systems such as Microsoft Office, Teams, SIMS and ParentPay
  • Maintain filing systems and organise school documents efficiently
  • Assist with general administrative duties including photocopying, scanning, and email correspondence
  • Support the organisation of school events and meetings as required
  • Handle incoming enquiries via email and in person with professionalism and clarity
  • Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary materials
  • Experience

  • Previous office experience or administrative role within an educational or similar environment is preferred
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Experience with data entry and clerical duties demonstrating attention to detail
  • Excellent phone etiquette coupled with friendly interpersonal skills

    This role will be from 8.45 am to 3.15 pm, Monday - Friday, Term time only. 30 hours per week. The actual salary for this working pattern is £18,124.90
