Hours: Monday – Friday (07:15 – 2:15)

Start: Sept 2026

Zest Education are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Cook for a primary school in Stone, Staffordshire

Key Responsibilities:

• Help provide and maintain an efficient service, following school values and procedures.
• Ensure implementation and maintenance of all statutory standards of hygiene, food safety and health & safety including delivery of training.
• Preparation and service of food and drinks using fresh ingredients.
• Ensure all equipment and storerooms are kept clean and tidy.
• Assist with managing orders and receiving of all food and supplies required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience of working in a busy kitchen environment and complying with health and safety standards.
• Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and being able to maintain high standards.

What You’ll Need:

• Enhanced DBS check (Or be willing to obtain one)
• References to cover the last 2 years fully
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Level 2 Food Hygiene and Allergen Training.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
