Commercial Manager

Our client, a prominent player in the Transmission and Distribution (T & D) sector, is currently seeking a skilled Commercial Manager to join their team in Reading. This permanent role offers an exciting hybrid working arrangement, with 2-3 days a week from home and the remainder from the office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing commercial operations and ensuring projects adhere to financial budgets and time constraints
• Managing a team with two direct reports and providing necessary guidance and support
• Engaging in quantity surveying to evaluate project costs and resources
• Handling project values of £50,000 and above efficiently
• Utilising NEC suite of contracts for project management and commercial control
• Preparing regular financial reports and updates for senior management
• Identifying and mitigating commercial risks to ensure project success
• Liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and project alignment

Job Requirements:

• Experience in the commercial management of projects within the Transmission and Distribution sector
• Proficiency in quantity surveying and evaluating project costs
• Knowledge and experience with NEC suite of contracts
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a small team
• Excellent financial acumen and report writing skills
• Capability to identify and mitigate commercial risks effectively
• Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid working arrangement
