Interim Accounts Assistant

Location: West of Newcastle upon tyne Rate: £18 - £20 per hour Duration: Minimum 3-4 weeks (potential to extend) Start: Immediate

We are recruiting for an experienced Interim Accounts Assistant to support a busy finance team during a period of increased workload. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can hit the ground running and provide support across transactional finance and finance administration activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing high volumes of purchase ledger invoices
• Managing sales ledger activities and customer invoicing
• Supporting credit control, including chasing outstanding debt and resolving payment queries
• Reconciling supplier and customer accounts
• Assisting with payment runs
• Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
• General finance administration and ad hoc support to the wider finance team

Requirements

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance support role
• Strong background across purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience using finance systems and Excel
• Available to start at short notice
