Role Overview

As a Gas Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out gas servicing work across the Darlington borough, ensuring properties and appliances are checked, maintained, and serviced safely and efficiently. You will manage your daily workload using a mobile PDA system to receive jobs, record completed work, and update service information.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out gas servicing and safety checks in domestic properties.
• Complete assigned jobs efficiently and to a high standard.
• Use a mobile PDA to manage appointments, record findings, and update job statuses.
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
• Identify and report any faults, safety issues, or required follow-up works.
• Complete all required documentation accurately.
• Follow health and safety procedures and industry regulations.

Working Arrangements

• You will be provided with a company van for work purposes.
• The van will be collected from and returned to the depot each working day.
• You will work within the Darlington borough, travelling between customer locations to complete scheduled jobs.

Requirements

• Relevant gas qualifications and experience as a Gas Service Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of domestic gas appliances and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily workload.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable using mobile technology such as a PDA for job management.
