Estimator - Piling / Geotechnical - SL47860 Location: Basingstoke Salary: 45,000 - 50,000 + Company Car / Car Allowance + Benefits Estimator required to join a growing specialist Civil Engineering and Geotechnical contractor, delivering piling, ground engineering, earthworks and associated civil engineering projects across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured and prospective projects, the company is looking to appoint an Estimator to support the preparation of tenders and pricing submissions. This position would suit an Estimator with several years' experience within piling, geotechnical engineering, ground engineering or earthworks who is looking to develop their career within a specialist contractor. The company is not necessarily seeking a Senior Estimator. Of greater importance is a practical understanding of the industry, construction techniques and rates, alongside the ability to put together accurate tenders and communicate effectively with clients. Estimator Salary & Benefits 45,000 - 50,000 salary, dependent upon experienceCompany car or car allowance25 days holiday plus Bank HolidaysBupa cash planPotential additional private healthcare depending on seniorityAccommodation provided when lodging awaySignificant secured and visible project pipelineOpportunity to join a growing specialist contractor Estimator Job Overview Review tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and associated documentationPrepare estimates and tender submissions for piling, geotechnical, earthworks and associated civil engineering packagesBuild up rates for labour, plant, materials and subcontract packagesWork within established estimating parameters while developing a strong understanding of project-specific risks and opportunitiesUnderstand proposed construction techniques and ensure these are appropriately reflected within pricingLiaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotationsPrepare tender documentation and commercial information for submissionRespond to technical and commercial queries throughout the tender processLiaise directly with clients regarding proposed schemes and tender submissionsAttend occasional client meetings, including meetings at client offices in LondonWork closely with the operational and commercial teams to ensure tenders reflect realistic delivery methods and costsAssist with tender handovers following successful project awardsDevelop technical and commercial knowledge with the opportunity to progress within the estimating function Estimator Job Requirements Previous estimating experience within piling, geotechnical engineering, ground engineering, earthworks or specialist civil engineeringIdeally circa 4+ years' industry experience, although experience and technical ability will be considered on an individual basisUnderstanding of construction rates, plant, labour and materialsKnowledge of piling / geotechnical construction techniquesAble to interpret drawings, specifications and tender informationCommercially aware with good numerical and analytical skillsConfident putting together tender submissions and responding to client queriesApproachable and comfortable dealing directly with clientsStrong communication and organisational skillsKeen to learn and progress within a growing specialist contractorFull UK driving licenceBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
