Role

Due to recent progression and increase of pipeline of work within the business, our client now has an opportunity for a CAD Technician to join their team. You will have design responsibility for a variety of interesting project across the Midlands, working on behalf of some of the UK's leading Tier 1 contractors.

As the role and business continues to develop, there will be opportunities to progress to Design Manager for driven individuals in the future.

Responsibilities

As the CAD Technician, you will work alongside the other design staff members, support the business with design queries and ensure projects are delivered on-time and to budget.

Designer position dealing with the supply and install of rainscreen facades, roofing and cladding
Services include new build and refurbishment projects for both the commercial, industrial and residential market sectors
Review client specifications, surveys and manufacturers design information to produce designs
Occasional site surveys may have to be carried out to obtain further information
Managing the development and implementation of design proposals and ensure they meet the clients expectations
Ensure all construction drawings and designs are produced on time to a high standard Scheduling of required materials to an agreed programme for buying
Ensuring information is passed between departments so designs have the technical back up required
Working on projects ranging in value from £10k to £6m
Person

The ideal candidate will come from a roofing and/or cladding background, or a construction main contracting background. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious CAD Technician looking to progress their career.

Must have design experience within the building envelope market sector
Sound knowledge of building regulations and building standards
Strong AutoCAD LT & AutoCAD experience
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
High levels of organisation and attention to detail
Enthusiastic, team player, who works well individually also
