We are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor in Salford to work within welcoming secondary schools on a short-term, long-term, or temp-to-perm basis. This Cover Supervisor job in Salford is ideal for experienced Cover Supervisors, aspiring teachers, graduates, sports coaches, youth workers, or anyone with experience working with young people who is confident leading a classroom.

You’ll be joining supportive secondary schools across Salford that place a strong emphasis on inclusion, student wellbeing, and creating a positive learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a familiar face within a school while gaining valuable classroom experience and making a real difference to students’ education.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher across a range of subjects
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with the school’s behaviour policy
• Ensure students remain engaged, focused, and on task throughout lessons
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff
• Provide feedback to teaching staff following each lesson
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements or Skills

• Previous experience working with children or young people in a school, coaching, youth work, mentoring, or care setting
• Excellent behaviour management skills and the confidence to lead a classroom independently
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A calm, resilient, and adaptable approach
• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
• Degree holders and aspiring teachers are encouraged to apply

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
