SEN Teacher – Full‑Time Position Starting ASAP

Zest Education is proud to be recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a warm, inclusive, and well‑resourced school in the Telford area. This full‑time position beginning ASAP and offers an exciting opportunity for a teacher passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities – SEN Teacher

  • Plan, deliver, and adapt high‑quality lessons to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Provide inclusive teaching to individuals, small groups, and whole classes.
  • Create and maintain a positive, structured, and inspiring classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider school staff.
  • Develop personalized learning plans and adjust strategies based on pupil progress.
  • Support pupils in communication, social development, emotional regulation, and independence.
  • Promote behaviour that is respectful, safe, and conducive to learning.
  • Liaise with parents and external professionals to ensure consistent support.

Requirements – SEN Teacher

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND including, autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, or complex needs.
  • Strong classroom management and behavior‑support skills.
  • A child‑centered, compassionate, and patient teaching approach.
  • Ability to plan, differentiate, and deliver engaging, accessible lessons.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for inclusion, creativity, and helping every pupil reach their potential.

What the Role Will Involve

  • Full‑time teaching across primary and/or secondary age groups depending on experience.
  • Teaching a smaller‑than‑average class size with strong TA support.
  • Using creative and multisensory teaching approaches to engage diverse learners.
  • Delivering personalized interventions and structured learning activities.
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment where all pupils can thrive.
  • Working with a supportive and experienced leadership team committed to SEN excellence.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
