Teaching Assistant

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Atherstone. This is a full-time, ongoing position, starting in September, supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis within a Year 2 class.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about making a positive impact on a child’s educational journey and helping them achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a Year 2 pupil, providing tailored support both inside and outside the classroom. You will help promote engagement, confidence, independence, and academic progress while working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil.
• Assist with learning activities and classroom tasks.
• Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and educational development.
• Implement strategies and interventions set by school staff.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents where appropriate.
• Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Classroom Assistant.
• Experience supporting children within a primary school setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, adaptable, and supportive approach.
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
