Warehouse Team Leader JY1

Location: Hull
Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts, Monday to Friday (6:00am - 2:00pm / 2:00pm - 10:00pm)

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join a leading and well-established distribution operation in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated warehouse professional looking to take the next step in their leadership career within a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.

As Warehouse Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety targets are consistently achieved while leading and developing a team of warehouse operatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support a team of warehouse operatives across all warehouse activities.


• Plan and allocate workloads to ensure operational and customer service targets are met.


• Monitor team performance and provide coaching, guidance and training where required.


• Ensure all orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time.


• Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping throughout the warehouse.


• Conduct team briefings, return-to-work meetings and performance discussions as required.


• Monitor stock accuracy and support inventory control activities.


• Investigate and resolve operational issues to minimise disruption.


• Work closely with other departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives.


• Ensure all company policies, procedures and compliance requirements are adhered to.

About You

• Previous experience in a Warehouse Team Leader, Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership role.


• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and distribution processes.


• Experience managing and developing teams within a fast-paced environment.


• Knowledge of warehouse KPIs and performance management.


• Excellent communication and organisational skills.


• Ability to prioritise workloads and make decisions under pressure.


• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).


• Forklift licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
