An excellent opportunity for an experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon to step into a senior clinical role within a well-established practice in Ashford, Surrey. This position is ideal for a confident Veterinary Surgeon with strong ultrasonography skills who is looking to lead, mentor and drive clinical standards within a supportive and collaborative team.

Key Details

• Role: Lead Veterinary Surgeon.

• Contract: Permanent.

• Location: Ashford, Surrey.

• Hours: 40 hours per week across 4 days.

• Weekend rota: 1 in 6 full weekends.

• Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 per year, DOE.

The Practice

You will be working alongside a Certificate Holder and an experienced team of RVNs within a practice that prides itself on gold-standard case work and a genuinely supportive team culture. The team actively encourages collaboration, development and positive wellbeing, reflected in excellent client feedback and consistently strong client satisfaction scores.

Out-of-hours care is fully supported by a nearby 24-hour hospital, providing access to advanced diagnostics including CT, ensuring continuity of care without compromising work–life balance.

Facilities & Equipment

• Digital and dental x-ray.

• Ultrasound and echocardiography.

• ECG and multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring.

• Full in-house laboratory including microscope, haematology, biochemistry and iSTAT analysers.

• Access to CT via a local 24-hour hospital.

The Role

• Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.

• Lead and maintain high clinical and operational standards.

• Provide clear, compassionate communication to clients.

• Prepare accurate treatment plans and cost estimates.

• Mentor, develop and support the veterinary and nursing team.

• Complete clinical handovers and ensure smooth case continuity.

• Share best practice across the wider clinical community.

About You

• Qualified and RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.

• Proven leadership capability within a clinical setting.

• Strong interest or experience in ultrasonography.

• Confident working collaboratively within a team environment.

• Passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care.

• Experienced in coaching, mentoring and developing colleagues.
